It's the morning after the night before and I'm disappointed but the best team won on the night. I was right about the team Fergie put out but they really under performed! A great first ten minutes of the game for United and I thought things were looking good but as soon as Barca scored the game turned. Anderson shirked the tackle that cost us the first goal and was invisible in the middle! I never thought I'd say this two or three years back but I think the man we missed badly in there last night was Darren Fletcher. United needed to be biting the ankles of the Barcelona midfield but we just never got to grips in the centre. It's hard for the likes of Rooney to get fully involved in the game when we're not doing it in the middle of the park.

Without doubt the man of the match had for me had to be Carlos Puyol. He was immense and got up and down the pitch with great effect. I actually thought United would have threatened him with pace but experience showed through and he was magnificent.

Messi bagged the winner, and deservedly so as overall he's been brilliant for Barca in the competition. I'd also have to say that he out shined Ronaldo in what was billed as the Messi V Ronaldo show. Looking at the United players last night I was thinking at the end, I dont think Scholes and Giggs will play as big a part next season and also wondered if Tevez is definitely on his way out of Old Trafford. If this is the case that's three holes to fill so it'll be interesting to see what happens before the start of next season. We have Hargreaves coming back though which should add some strength in the middle and hopefully the likes of Raphael, Gibson and Macheda have a bigger impact next year!

Anyway, no point crying over spilled milk, the best team won on the night and you cant win them all. << Whoever invented cliches would be proud to see that last sentence Was thinking of registering championsleaguefinal2010.com to build up to next years final. Any thoughts?
