Decluttering
It feels great getting rid of junk. I'm definitely making a rule for myself to stop hoarding so much stuff. I spent the day going through everything that I collected over the last 4 years in Dublin and ended up throwing most of it, recycling, salvation army etc. well it's great get rid of it all. I have loads more to go through tomorrow but was made feel a lot better when I met a friend who's just returned home from America after 7 or 8 years and he has a full container of stuff and the same issues as me. So the big clear out is on!
I'll have to do a similar effort firstly on my PC on then in the area surrounding my PC so I can create a proper workspace and give myself a decent chance of getting stuck in to a few projects I have in mind. Trying to get things done in the middle of a mess just rubs of on you and you cant think straight. I find when your working in a neat and tidy area ideas come more clearly and stuff gets done a lot faster. Although, I'd be the first to admit when I'm in full flow I love writing ideas down on paper and can often gather lots of different ideas and thoughts down before I summarise it and get on with getting things done.
The hardest part of creating space is getting started but when you do things fall into place slowly but surely!
I'm not too happy with my progress on the custom design of my blog but I'm not too concerned about getting it in to shape by 30 days as when I get setup correctly and get a full day looking at the php and css I know I'll make good progress. I need to get a copy of photoshop too and try to integrate some new graphics into the site. That'll be another learning process but I really do need to make the step up from MS Paint
Booked my accommodation for the weekend in Manchester today too. I normally stay in the Travelodge on Blackfriars Street but I'm going to stay in The Britannia on Portland Street this time.
